Meet Dr. Saikaly

Born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, Dr. Elijah (Eli) B. Saikaly graduated with honors from Immaculata High School. He received his bachelor’s degree with honors (CUM LAUDE) from the University of Ottawa in Biochemistry as well as a minor degree in Kinesiology. With a great sense of humour and a passion to serve people, Dr. Saikaly pursued a dental education in Washington D.C. at Howard University and earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. After all, you must have a sense of humour to go into dentistry! There, he received numerous honors and awards for his academic and clinical expertise including the Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) National Dental Honor Society induction. Graduating in the top 5% of his dental class, Dr. Saikaly was accepted into Orthodontics at Virginia Commonwealth University where he received a Master’s of Science in Dentistry as well as a Certificate of Residency in Orthodontics. As they say, home is where the heart is so following his formal training, Dr. Saikaly returned to Ottawa to start his career and open his practices. (Orleans Orthodontics, located at 2020 Tenth Line Road in Orleans opened in 2007, while Centertown Orthodontics, located at 30 Chamberlain Avenue in the Glebe opened in 2012.)

Dr. Saikaly holds both Canadian (FRCD(C)) and American Licenses to practice both Dentistry, as well as Orthodontics in both countries. Dr. Saikaly is an active member of the Canadian Association of Orthodontists, Canadian Dental Association as well as the Ontario Association of Orthodontists. By actively participating in regular orthodontic continuing education courses in Canada, the US and abroad, Dr. Saikaly ensures that he stays current with the latest information and technology available to his patients.

Having practiced in the specialty field of orthodontics for more than ten years, Dr. Saikaly has had the privilege of treating hundreds of adults and children in the Ottawa and Orleans areas. “Meeting new people” and “removing braces and seeing beautiful smiles” are just some of the rewards he enjoys most about working in the specialty field of orthodontics. During his personal time, Dr. Saikaly enjoys spending quality time with his children and extended family, playing music (he is a bass guitar enthusiast!), maintaining a healthy lifestyle/staying active, and he always makes time for a good game of golf! Dr. Saikaly is also an advocate of giving back to the community whenever possible and supports various local charities and organizations, especially those focused on the health and well-being of children and families.
